Being Brave Against Bullies

I was a shy 98-pound senior in high school with a classmate the other kids picked on. Steve had a nervous tick and a couple of other things going against him. One day was especially bad when we had a substitute teacher who left the room for a bit. The taunting of Steve really took off, but I stood up, even though I was shaking, and called out the entire class.
