Dealing with In-Laws

Hi Dr. Laura,

You have been a blessing in my life since the early ’90s. I was listening to your program recently about a woman who was having problems with her future mother-in-law.

When my daughter and her husband were having ongoing issues with his mother, I suggested that she let him be the one to say the hard things to his mother. I told her that his mother would likely forgive him, but she might never forgive my daughter, and their relationship could suffer as a result.

As a mother, I know that this is true of me and my own children.
