Letting Go of a Loved One with a Failing Memory
Read on the Wednesday, September 3rd radio program.
My mother had Alzheimer's and spent her last ten years in a wonderful nursing home where she was well cared for. Several times a week I would go to feed her dinner, play music for her and such. Then Covid hit, and I was unable to see her for many months. I missed her last Mother’s Day and birthday. Eventually I was able to get one last hour-long visit. Two days later, she passed away peacefully at the age of 97.
