The Work Begins After the Call Ends

A few years ago, I called looking for guidance. You offered insight into my situation, gave your recommendation, and then you were gone. Silence on my end. With your proclamation fresh in my ears, I sat there rather stunned that the call was over. I was left completely alone with my thoughts as I turned your suggestions over in my mind. My final thought summary was “Hmm, I guess it’s as simple as that.” I no longer needed to spend time or energy strategizing how to respond to the situation.
