I was a faithful listener back in the 90s, newly married, working for a design firm as a landscape architect and my wife was a teacher. We were getting by ok, on a very tight budget and figuring out this marriage thing. Never once in my life had I even thought about a mom staying home to raise her children. I thought two incomes were much more important. I just assumed putting a child in daycare would be totally fine because that's the way everybody I knew was "doing parenting."
